Cow for Sale? Not anymore, it was sold

One of the blogs that reached A-list status in a short period of time has just sold for $50,000.

Much has been discussed about whether bloggers should or not turn their blogs into some quick cash by just selling them. Some agree, others disagree (mostly invoking personal links to the sites).

The truth is, it’s a way to make some quick (and not so small) amounts of money.

Just a few days ago, Ben Cook from BloggingExperiment.com announced his decision to sell his site (which sold fast for 5 figures value). Now it was the turn of JohnCow.com.

Less than 36 hours after making the announcement, the Buy it Now value of $50,000 was met (only two much smaller bids were posted before the final one).

How things will turn for the milkiest site around, we’ll have to see in the time to come.

  1. Hopefully new blood can help revitalize that site. So many of these make money online sites have really lost their uniqueness. All I’ve seen is guest post X, review Y.

  2. I completely agree. Although networking is a major factor is the success of a blog, sometimes can be overkill.
Usually, when you decide to grab a feed of a blog you like (hint hint) it’s because you’re interested in what the author has to say, in his own style. Loosing that can mean loosing readership.

But let’s wait and see what the future of this site will be.

    Thanks for your comment.
