Sony Ericsson is really getting on the move with its Walkman series: the Sony Ericsson W960i it’s a Walkman phone at it’s best.

Who would think a term so old as “Walkman” would come back with such a force. Do you still remember those old tape players that many would carry around together with their favorite tapes? Those players that would kill an enormous amount of batteries, were bulky as hell but so fashionable? This Walkman here is slightly different. But I digress… On to the gadget.

Sony Ericsson W960i

Sony Ericsson W960i: Highlights

  •  8Gb of memory
  • Stereo Bluetooth headset (HBH-DS220)
  • TrackID
  • 3.2 Megapixel camera
  • 2.6″ touch-screen
  • High-speed web access through 3G or WiFi

Sony Ericsson W960i: made for music

700 albums or approximately 8000 songs (yes, you’ve read correctly, 8000 songs) fit into this memory beast. 8Gb not only for songs but for any other form of digital information you might need to carry with you: files, photos, etc. The fast USB connection allows for a transfer of 1Gb of files in about 3 minutes. Want to transfer directly from your CDs? No problem. The Sony Ericsson W960i features the Disc2Phone software to allow fast ripping of your music Cds directly to your phone memory.

For all that music nothing less than a good headset. Good sound quality, Bluetooth connectivity to your phone and automatic volume adjustment is all that you’ll need and it’s what the included HBH-DS220 headset will give you.

With TrackID it’s easy to find out anything about the song you are currently listening to on the incorporated radio or in any other source of music. Want to see how it works?

Sony Ericsson W960i: a camera always with you

It is pretty common to have a camera on a mobile phone. With the Sony Ericsson W960i it’s a 3.2 Megapixel camera with 16mm frame, 3x digital zoom and auto-focus. Not a dSLR quality, but handy for the quick photos you might want to take and not miss the opportunities. Also, with picture messaging and email, you can share your photos on the fly.

Still with cameras, this mobile is equipped with a front camera for video calls.

Sony Ericsson W960i: there’s a phone inside too

Oh, and of course, it’s also a phone. GSM 900, 1800, 1900, UMTS 2100, polyphonic rings, speakerphone and video calls are just a few of the features you can find on the new 109×55x16mm communication and entertainment equipment from Sony Ericsson, available on the fourth quarter of 2007.

  2. Hello peter,

The W960i is indeed a remarkable phone, but maybe next time, when you want to openly sell something you should use ebay or something like that.
This time I’m not “censoring” your comment, but the Technology Corner does not endorse such pitching comments that are bordering on spam.
