SEOBook: it’s mine now!!!

By Marques • Oct 4th, 2007 • Category: Contests, Offbeat, SEO

As many of you know, Daren at ProBlogger.net is celebrating the 3rd anniversary of his blog.

And what does he have to give? Nothing less than $54,000 in prizes offered by sponsors  (just by this you can see how big his blog is).

But that is not exactly the main topic of my post.

If you remember, some days ago I asked How well do you know SEO? related to a contest by Josh at his Make Money Blog. Lately, I’ve been reading quite a few books, blogs and white papers related to SEO. Maybe that helped and, together with a fair amount of luck, I actually won the $30 prize (thanks Josh). One of the ebooks that was on my “to buy” list was the highly acclaimed SEOBook by Aaron Wall. I had heard wonders of this ebook and was really curious to read it. Of course that the $30 were already marked to be used to help buy it.

Back to the Problogger’s Birthday Bash, for the first giveaway session the prize was… the one and only Aaron Wall’s SEOBook.

Since I had nothing to loose (to enter I just needed to drop a comment on the post) I “placed my bet”. To my surprise, the following day I got an email mentioning that I had won one of the 12 copies being given and another email from Aaron with a link to the download area.

The good news is now I’m the proud owner of Aaron’s SEOBook and I didn’t even had to spend a cent on it. The bad news is that by getting one of the prizes I can’t try my luck anymore and enter any of the competitions.

And the book is everything I had heard and much more. Definitely one of the best SEO books out there (beating many of the paper ones I’ve read). Doesn’t give you any blah blah to fill pages and goes straight to the point on 331 wonderful pages of SEO knowledge.

Besides, it links to hundreds of tools and sites that you can use to improve the ranks of your own sites.

It has kept me entertained for some hours and it is a reference point I’ll turn to when in doubt about something SEO.

Have you read it? What were your initial thoughts?
