Praying gone digital - can they call it iRosary?

Everyone knows that people try to make money in the most absurd ways, sometimes exploiting the lack of knowledge or weaknesses of the targeted audience. No news there… And I guess this is just another one of those cases.

Another example how religion is used abused on making money schemes: PREX, from Loreto, Italy, is preying on the religious habits of Christians and selling a digital rosary (very high-tech) that allows people to pray without having to go to church. The company manager buries himself further by saying that the gadget “is a very useful instrument for sick and old people because they can now pray without having to go to church everyday”. How lower can religious marketing go?

The thing costs “only” 29,5 euros (around US$ 40) and they report over 7 thousand sales all over Italy. But there is more… as an added bonus, you can choose from 4 available colors and a myriad of “saintly” images to engrave your iRosary with (sorry for the pun Apple).

Just another example of technology put to good use…
