Josh Spaulding has been having a nice little contest on his Make Money Blog: Who can beat his SEO Quiz Score.

I’ve found the idea absolutely brilliant in order to generate some buzz for his site and, since lately I’ve been reading a lot (and I do mean a LOT) of SEO related material I decided to give it a shot. I’m not an expert, but for my current projects, every little help is needed and there are very good resources out there if one intends to lean a bit more on SEO.

Although some of the questions are straightforward (basic SEO techniques), others are not so and really made me think about it. Ok, and I had a fairly amount of luck also, specially in questions that are not so general public knowledge (who would know that you need to have an active AdWords campaign for your site to show as “breakout” result)… In any case, I leaned something and even if the quiz takes a little long to complete, it was worth it (with or without the prize).

Anyway, $30 was the prize and as I’m writing this post I still haven’t checked if someone claimed it or not.

By the way, 73% was the score to beat… will my 78% be enough for those $30?

UPDATE: And guess what… I won it after all… and just in time. Just after I posted, there were some others posting even higher scores.

    Yeah, I agree.

    That’s why I made many sites to utilize my SEO skills so that I can get on top of many rankings in Google. Then when people come to my site, I usually do quite well :D

    @Gil: Stick with online sites. They’re quite good in this constantly changing SEO world :)
